Outlook Express doesn't allow attachments to be opened

If you have just installed Windows XP SP1, you might have noticed that Outlook Express has prohibited you to see the attachments of the E-mails sent to you. This is not a flaw of Outlook Express nor of SP1. This is supposed to be for your protection as some attachments may contain viruses.

If you are sure that no attachments have viruses, or you are protected by a virus scanner, you may disable this "problem" anytime by:

1. Open Outlook Express.
2. Click on Tools.
3. Click on Options.
4. Click on Security.
5. Uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus."
6. Click OK
