May 31, 2002, was a sad day for the police force in the Philippines. According to news items, a hostage and his hostage taker were both killed because of what was believed to be lapses of the police force. Since it was a big story for the day (with various news agencies giving it paper and air time) I thought the net might have some news about it too. I was right. But I thought what I saw was too ironic. See a netgrab from the Philippine Daily Inquirer by clicking here and you would agree with me that the page is indeed ironic.
