WORM ALERT 03 May 2004 1.13am +0800: It's high time to remind everyone again to update and apply the necessary patches if you're using Windows. Get your updates only from Windows Update. Again, as a reminder, Microsoft does not send updated via E-mail. So if you have received one, just delete it. It is even most likely to be infected by a virus. And for the news, Microsoft has issued a warning that a worm has been created and unleashed to exploit some of its security holes. Read the story »

09 April 2004 12:13am +0800: Now that Camile Velasco has been voted out, and I was hoping she won't be, I am now hoping, nahhh, emploring to all the Pinoys out there, wherever you are on the planet, to vote for Jasmine Trias. 06 April 2004 11:52pm +0800: I had the chance of reading a news article on the net from the Manila Standard early April the 6th, which happens to be the birthday of my youngest sister. If you have not opened the news article yet, you should now. What made me not too happy about the article was that the police said that the absence of a formal complaint had barred them from investing the case. And if this was true, and there's a law that prohobits the police from investigating cases when without complaints, then there's something wrong somewhere, the police or the law. Happenings which are criminal in nature, or one that leads to a crime, I believe, should be investigated by the police even without any complaint. No wonder there are lots of battered women and children who continue to suffer because there is no one complaining!
02 April 2004 12:59am +0800: Spam has been one Internet users' problems. I was thinking of something worth exploring and might work on it after the May 2004 Philippine elections. I am hoping my momentum won't go away so that I could start working on it as soon as possible. On the other hand, the Supercount website is almost finished. A little few tweaks here and there and it's all finished. And hopefully, it will be put to good use. :-)

06 February 2004 07.53pm +0800: I have just opened Google a few seconds ago and I got a shock of my life! Google has redirected me to google.com.ph and is in Filipino! What shocked me was the fact that I got used to using this search engine in English and had to admit I am not as good as I should be with this language considering I was born in a non-Tagalog speaking town. Filipino is the national language of the Philippines but is based mainly from Tagalog. Filipino nor Tagalog are not the languages I grew up with and if given the choice, I'd rather choose my own language, Karay-a. After all, Antique, my province, is known to be the first Malay settlement in Philippines. And besides, Google should know that more Filipinos understand English better than Filipino, and that English is the medium of instruction from Nursery to Post-Graduate education.
15 January 2004 03.50am +0800: After weeks of not having searched for any news about Adrian Lamo, here comes the news: Adrian pleads guilty! While I am sad and upset about this story and how events turned, I guess it's Adrian's call. It's his life. And however anyone may oppose his decision to plead guilty, the only thing we can do right now is accept and support him. What makes me sad and upset is the fact that Adrian was not guilty of any offense in the first place. I am no genius but common sense dictates that an open server is an open server, and thus, it means that anyone can get in there and do his thing however he may see fit! (See Befriending "Homeless Hacker" Adrian Lamo by David Strom.) What makes things worse is that Adrian had to accept that it is otherwise and that, according to him, "Any action of mine, I own. I will not deny the consequences of my actions, real or alleged." (See Adrian's full message.) And this is really sad. To Adrian, here's wishing you the best, from my side of the world!
